GCFC member receives 2014 Ontario Soccer Association Meritorious Award
Start date: Friday April 4 2014
End date: Tuesday November 30 1999

German Candian FC member Juergen Belle [president] has been nominated, and selected to receive an Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) Meritorious Award (individual).

The Centre Circle Awards are the OSA´s highest level of recognition, and winners exemplify those who made outstanding contributions to the game. More specifically this award is given to an individual who, over an extended period of not less than twenty years, has rendered special service to the game of soccer and who has dedicated her/himself during that time to the assistance of others and the promotion and development of the game in one or more Districts in the province.

Juergen Belle came to London with his family in 1956. From that time forward he became a part of the football culture in London, especially at the German Canadian Club. On a weekly basis, if not daily, he spent time at the German Canadian Club to watch his dad play for the German Canadians or spend hours with the young children playing the game. Fast forward to today- Juergen continues to be an active volunteer and ambassador of the sport of soccer in the London area, which includes (however is not limited to) acting as the current GCFC president and current chairman (and founder) of the Middlesex Masters Soccer League.

Juergen will be recognized by the Ontario Soccer Association and their annual Centre Circle Awards Banquet April 26th 2014. This award is a tremendous reflection of Juergen´s contributions to the game.

On behalf of German Canadian FC we congratulate Juergen Belle for achieving this incredible honor.
