FC London will be playing 6 out of their 8 home games at Cove Rd Field at the German Canadian Club for 2011.

FC London plays 16 games, opening its Great Lakes Division season May 22 in Toronto against the Lynx. The home opener is May 28 against Ottawa Fury at Cove Road Field at the German-Canadian Club.

FC London has scheduled six of home games at the German-Canadian Club. The other two are at Marconi Field.

“We’re excited about that,” said team president Ian Campbell. “The feedback we had from our fans and players was that they loved to play at the German-Canadian Club. Even if we drew 2,000-3,000 fans at TD Waterhouse Stadium, we couldn’t generate the atmosphere we wanted to generate.”

Campbell also said renting TD Waterhouse was “cost prohibitive.”

“The German-Canadian Club and Marconi were thrilled for us to be bringing the numbers we would be bringing to the games,” he said.
