2011 GCFC year end banquet and awards summary

Players, coaches and guests of our FC came together on Saturday, November 5, 2011 for our annual celebration of accomplishments and an evening of camaraderie and fun. After the initial “cocktail” hour all those present enjoyed the buffet style banquet and a slice of decadent dessert provided by Vicky Alb.

After dining on a tasty banquet in a relaxed and celebratory atmosphere, our FC President, Juergen Belle, opened the festivities by welcoming the FC special guests:

• Bob Walters, President GCC and his wife BeBe
• Hermann Belle, past President GCFC and GCC, and his wife Irmgard
• Horst Ammonn, past GCFC and GCC executive
• Joe and Evelyn Rosell, owner and operators of Green/White Tennis Academy
• Norm and Tina Malbreacht, generous donators to the upkeep of the GCFC field
• Russell Owen, GCFC Engineering support
• Connie Vink and family, volunteers for game day food and beverage services

After all introductions were completed the podium was turned over to the coaches of the respective teams to recognize this year’s award winners, as voted by their team mates:

- Teammate of the year – Karen Stone

Blaze – Div. II
- Player of the year – Heidi Marquis

The evening continued with dancing, mingling and soccer talk interrupted on occasion the drawing of generous door prizes, donated by the GCFC, Lionel Cain and Reinhardt Schmiedt.
