GCFC to host North American PDL semi final for FC London
German Canadian Club -
Start date: Saturday July 28 2012
End date: Tuesday November 30 1999
German Canadian FC (GCFC) organizers are planning for perhaps one of their biggest turn out at the German Canadian Club soccer facilities. Organizers are expecting around 2,000 people — more than four times the average FC London game attendance — to fill the Cove Rd. stadium Saturday July 28th.
“It really puts us on the map at the German Canadian Club,” said field manager Juergen Belle, who’s working all week to ensure the pitch, widely regarded as the best-kept in London, is in tip top shape for Saturday.
With London experiencing one of the hottest, driest summers on record, Belle and his staff are going to keep the pitch well watered all week.
Hosting a high-profile game like the North American final four, says Belle, gives a big boost to the London soccer scene.
“It will affect registrations, (and get) people interested in soccer, especially at the youth level.”
